The font is too fussy and too small to bear all of that gradient. It would be unreadable at a distance. I am also no fond of the pencil. It reminds me of a flaming torch more than a pencil.
If you are going to use a gradient, use a real gradient. I can see the divisions in colour on this inbetween letters and it is offputting.
Also, on the topic of gradients - don't ever use one in a logo. 99% of the time It just makes the logo look amaturish. I just searched "most famous logos" and couldn't see a single one in the hundreds and hundreds that popped up that had a gradient in it.
I don't think that font fits the company name.
I don't like that pencil. I don't think it is something you can do part way. Just make it a pixel pencil if that is your idea, the dissolve is too much, sorry.
