its nice but i would definitely like to see just a plain black and white version. With how you've done this logo it will always have to be digitally printed for any media you use it on which is expensive. You should create a simple black and white version so that it can be easily recognized and also it will be alot cheaper and easier to produce stationery and signage

This looks fine for a personal logo I think. Building a logo in photoshop is usually a no-no but heck, I doubt you'll be putting this on a billboard anytime soon, due to the nature of it. I'd imagine you'd only be using this on a website and a digitally printed business card, so it should be fine. Oh, and the actual logo itself... I like it, it definitely achieves the goals you set, I think it would look really nice in context on a website or business card, definitely feels like a young persons logo though, for whatever that's worth.

Well, as mentioned above you're definitely going to have to have anything using this logo printed digitally. If that's no big deal, then oh well.

But the other thing that I just have to toss out there is that this is REALLY, reaaaaaally 'inspired' by Transformers. Anyone that looks at that (and knows anything about popular media) is going to immediately think of the other logo, or just think of the Transformers in general. Maybe that's not a bad thing to you, in which case, no big deal.

I guess I just wouldn't want my own personal logo looking SO much like an already famous logo. (Even if I love love loved the transformers.) Especially if you're a designer- if you're a graphic designer by trade I would absolutely do something else- you want your clients to know that you're capable of making something on your own- something fresh, something unique! With this they might think that your only talent is being a mimic!?

Thanks for those feedbacks guys. I really apreciate it!
To clear some points:
_ This particular logo will be use on my buisness card, and my website/portfolio only.
_ I actually developed the concept in illustrator ( outlines, no color fill yet), then imported it in photoshop to make it look how it is. I had no intention of printing this logo on any of my work ( due to the digital print and the cost of it).
_ I wanted to make it look like a transformer, without copying it... For few reasons : i'm a big fan of the movies, I thought it will be on somepoint related to graphics since we transform/create all kind of pics, and it makes it look like a young/energetic logo. And thats who I am. Just graduated from graphics and currently going for web.
_ If any of that logo will be printed it will be on my ilustration version but i'm still wondering what color should I use for it.
I will post a new version of the logo in black and white as M@ requested.

It is quite a nice illustration to look at and I like the symmetry, but what does your business have to do with Transformers? Like saraqroxy said, people will just think of the Transformers film, which the older generation will not get (in general). If it is for a graphic design business, I would definitely avoid it, as a design or advertising agency logo should appeal to the masses and as a designer you should be designing for your audience and not for yourself. If your audience are specifically Transformer film or sci-fi lovers it is great.
