Brief from client
Not much of a brief from the client. He does home remodeling contract work. He came in with a basic sketch of a symbol and I worked it over for him. I'll post the sketch and the alternate layouts below.
I think this looks nice. You adhered to his sketch very well. The typography is nice and appropriate. I do think at first glance the tail of the R is a bit strange, but then considering it keeps with his sketch and also mirrors the shape of the U- it works for me!
Nice Job!
I actually prefer the design of the sketch. More specifically, the curve in the R, as well as keeping the U and R separate. Joining letters together is usually an awkward task in my opinion.
No complaints on the typography. I would just consider a different direction with the creative freedom the client provided.
Nice typography.
- You could use the 'U' and the 'R' from this font as basic shape.
- I would make the top of the arrow bigger because this is what it is all about: Up.
- Also I have the feeling that a square symbol is stronger.
- Check the margins within your symbol, they are not the same size

Alternates. The bottom row was following the original sketch. The top was where I took it and the client ultimately chose the top row.
Original sketch the client provided.
I like it a lot nice nice job Jon! The only thing i can say that looks weird is the transition in the R to the downward line.
