just going to throw some random advises to you :)

first of all, as a do it myself logo designer with no education of the sort, I am mostly thaught to make logos by the people on this site! they're awesome people and I'll never forget the one that gave me the advice to get the book: logo design love.

I know it sounds corny but that book really helps.

try and make your logos something that you, yourself would be impressed by. it needs to make a good 1st impression and people need to recall it after seeing it once or twice.

for a 1st, not so bad, at least you got the alignment right.

try and start making quick and dirty sketches of all the ideas in your head when you start designing a logo, usually the first 10 are rubbish and then you start getting creative/unique ideas.

don't get bugged by not creating a masterpiece on 1st try! get onto it, listen to the advices here, improve, adapt, design and succeed at last.

This isn't a wow. The font gives a military vibe. Sketch, sketch, sketch.

Here are some steps to try, if you do them please return with the results. I am curious.

1. Do a brainstorming chart. Put the company name in the middle of a big piece of paper. Then branch out with ideas that come to mind. Then branch off those ideas, then those ideas. (ex: Web design -> Mouse -> Cheese) It doesn't have to make sense, just go with it. Do this for about a half an hour. Remember to include jumping off points for big company ideals, specialties, that kind of thing.

2. Look over your chart for words that stand out, or are unusual and unique. Then take some combos of words (like Mouse + Umbrella) or some strong single words and list them.

3. Pick your favourites.

4. Pull out your sketch pad and start to sketch out some interesting concepts based on those words. It is good to sort of draw some letters here as well. Maybe do about 6 ideas as this is your first, later you can do about 3.

5. Pick the best 3 ideas. Go to a new page, and sketch out the ideas again. An entire page per idea. Refine things. Try different mice for example, different font ideas, different feelings.

6. Refine, refine, refine. Get 3 ideas down to what you want them to look like for certain on the computer.

7. Turn on your computer.

8. Scan in your ideas.

9. Show us those 3 sketches.

Do not computer design anything yet. I guarantee it will help, then we can help with your sketch ideas.
