Not a fan of this illustration style. =( Sorry!
The pen looks like a sword...sort of??
The characters face is inside the notepad (according to the placement of the shadow). And its apparently floating, as there is no sense of the left hand holding it.
I'm not sure what the point is as you have not provided any information as to what this image is for???

Yes, this is definitely not working and isn't on par with your other logos, by a big mile. I guess this is one of your earlier pieces.

The strokes are totally inconsistent. Sometimes it's thick, sometimes not and some other times, there's none. Look at that poor clip board, all strokeless.
