The idea for the logo is that the square symbolizes the country where the whole world go there to watch the Olympics.It's the Olympic spirit. The the letters with the square are five like the inhabited continents.
The colors that are chosen is because it is the color which symbolizes nature and life. It also symbolizes self-respect, balance and well being which are essential attributes required by the professional athletes participating in the games. The color green also offers protection from anxieties connected with demands of others which may also be seen to refer to the athletes who participate and are expected to win.
