Brief from client
Need a logo that projects simple imagery and project knowledge.
Logo creation paint information site, web blog, contractors chat and helpful hints.
For something that should "project simple imagery and project knowledge", it comes off as very complicated.
These two stain shape are really ugly and look like clip arts picked off the internet. They're way too gimmicky for a paint related business.
Overall, the whole composition looks too cramped, especially with the bad kerning.
This is logo needs to be simplified, like a lot. The font for the subtext is a good choice, I would stick to that one and find another complementing type.
The Splats or "stains" are carry overs from the parent company and was forced to use them. Logo was originally created for tee shirts but was forced to compress it all to fit into the "new" web header. Customer was VERY pleased with the final product.

Good luck!

The final logo as approved by the client.
I'm not really sure about this. If the client was very pleased, and that's your answer to a critique, why is this here, then?
Venus has a point. It's not because the client liked it that it's a good logo.
