Brief from client
Hand drawn logo for a local home painting company. He wanted to look like he was an upscale home painting company.
When it comes to painter, I tend to think that a corporate looking logo isn't the right fit. I also think that the painter himself should come up with his signature.
This logo gives the impression that it's for an artistic painter and not a house painter. The graphic style you went for is a bit misleading and doesn't fit the kind of business it's supposed to represent. For house painting business, I would expect something more formal.
For me, this doesn't really suit a House Painting company- the cursive font and the font for "painting" don't compliment each other well. I disagree with some above comments- I believe you can have a stylized or script font for this kind of company but only if it is done really well and the font choices work well together.
My main beef is that the paintbrush looks more like an artist brush- if it was a wider brush, that would look more like what a house painter would more likely use.
Couple those things together and it feels like an artist painter logo. =(
It's not a bad idea, it just needs some adjustments.

I read "Adam Terena", unfortunately.
And is that a clip art I see there?

He isn't a real painter, he runs a company that paints houses for a living. So he doesn't have a signature, let alone does he actually know cursive.
And absolutely not, I drew that brush myself and scanned it in.
Sorry if I came over a bit harsh.

What is the name? I'm not sure if it reads "Adam Terena" or "Adam Gerena". A logo should be clearly readable.
And for a company that paints walls and houses it really looks to artistic.
