I would say it's definitely not a good thing. How many sound companies use sound waves in their logo? 95% of them, that's for sure.

The result is an expected one, regardless of how well it is executed.

There's not much going on here. You probably could do something cool with the sound wave things, but you would need to work hard on it, because as Killswitch pointed out, they've been widely used my a lot of audio companies for many years.
