Brief from client
Client needs a revised logo that incorporates a very simple symbol for branding with complimentary text.

Company needs a simple brand/symbol that could be used on all multimedia applications. It should contain as few elements as possible to work properly (similar to a cattle brand). Type needs to compliment the symbol. Both symbol and text should should have a slight retro feel using curves instead of harsh angles.

nice job, i think your subtext is a bit too small though, especially if they are going to have stationery as it wont be big enough to print. Im also not sure whether you need that thin stroke around the text, im not sure it adds anything, and i think you need to slightly thicken up the white strokes on your symbol!
On some materials, you will have issues with the red. It is a very bright red. I disagree with @M comment regarding your strokes. As long as they are outlined and stay the same size when scaling, I think the stroke is elegant and if it were any thicker, it would add another element to visually focus on. I'm guessing you added the white stroke to break away the stark red and the black? To give a visual balance between the two colors?
Red is a very hard color to use on screen, especially small scale. If this is a motion graphic company, I would consider a different color palette. Unless you have several options media dependent. I find myself glancing at this logo and looking away quick because the red is that intense. Of course that depends on the monitor, the screen, equipment and all the other variables, and the root of all of that is that red.
Also, red invokes fear, passion, strength, intimidation. What are the company values? And what is their mission statement? Does this brand align with their messaging?
Great points Steve. The stroke was added for print only applications, and is optional depending on the application and/or size. It does represent the engraved edges on the title text only found in all 3D video versions. In 3D versions the symbol has no stroke but rather a convex or linear bevel and the symbol insert (shown in red) is optional. As a watermark/tag (symbol only) there is no stroke or insert and consists of shades of gray. The red was chosen over blue due to the luminance quality on screen. Thanks for your great comments.
I think you met the brief re the retro feel - Not my personal favorite though...
