Brief from client 

The company works with steel - primarily for shipping, so the logo should have a reference to that.

The inspiration for the logo came from a nut, a torx screw head, a star and ships screw.

The grid for the logo was made with 8 oval shapes and an outer and inner circle for cutting of the spikes.

I guess when you see the symbol on its own, it's a bit more obvious. But within the overall branding structure, it's not.
