Brief from client
woman's cycling fashion apparel logo. To be used for embroidering.
Since a lot of 'angry consumers' have been searching for a way to get back at me for my 'brutal' critiques of their work I decided it is time to give them something they can vent their frustration on.
This is one of my recent logo works, feel free to dissect it and spit on me the best you can.
I will certainly enjoy reading your comments.
Cheers,
splash
P.S. don't try to copy it, it's copyrighted.

It's too simple. You could have used more colors. Even though your drop shadow is unintentional, I give you points for that..BUT- now you are missing the highlights that would seal the deal. Rather than using 2 separate colors I would have used a gradient through the whole word. Speaking of, you misspelled BICYCLE.
You are absolutely right, I was afraid it's just too simple and not enough colorful even shown like this as embroidery it lacks the good quality of rainbow gradients and some strong drop shadows. But... misspelling is not my fault, they are darn french and they call it - bicyclette.
Your comments were very helpful, thank you. :)
I am going to seek out help from some photoshop expert who can turn all this into comic sans with lots and lots of colorful gradients and strong drop shadows.
I think thats a good idea.
Love the idea and execution but can you explain what the bit at the beginning of the "Y" is, the bit sticking up? Is this really required? Personally I think it would look a lot better without that little tale and make it look more like a bike.
Thanks, i think so too and I presented the client a cleaner version but I had to respect their wishes, they liked and bought this version.
I think it looks great...good job
I like it exactly because it's simple, very easy to copy (I mean, to reproduce), and very easy to remember.
What I don't know is if the cyclist is heading to the left or to the right. Perhaps a little tweaking there is necessary.
It's for women... driving bikes.... things tend to go wrong there. :P
Just joking, interesting comment, I thought it was obvious bike is facing to the left but... little ambiguity is good too. :)
lol- damn dude, you really are going for most hated : )
Nah, I respect self conscious women riding bikes, that was just an innocent pun.
Well, yes, bike goes to the left, text goes to the right. Let's see if more people notices that. You know like the backwards "R" in TOYS 'R' US.
Generally, people tend to overlook small (fun) details I put in my logos but... you noticed and that counts. :)
