Bit Club

This is a try at making a logo for a Bitcoin club. The mining pick may be redundant or it kinda stands out too much. I thought of going monochrome on the mining pick. I am also thinking about doing a negative space version.
I am experimenting with what I have learned so far, so I am asking you to give your honest opinion about this design.

Holy strokes Batman.
You are a case where you need a ton, and I mean a ton, of sketching before your hands even touch a mouse and keyboard.
The stroke around your pick is just jarring and so unnecessary. Not to mention the fact is is just thrown behind a dollar sign B without much design care or thought.
The uneven drop shadowed letters need to go. It does nothing for your logo, which when you take into account the white circle with a black outline, looks like Naruto attempted to invest in bitcoin.
Sketch, sketch sketch, sketch. You have too many ideas going, none of them are working for you, and you need a major consolidation.
Thank you for the critique. I definitely need to appreciate simplicity in design more. Thank you for the advice. I will try to get all of my ideas paper first, and study modern logos more.
