please tell me this is not a logo with a picture on it and is just the font, otherwise it is veryy verry bad. The main text looks very old and needs some small kerning work on it.
Logo design 101 : no photographs, no tracing! Never ever use a picture on a logo. Logos need to be made out of vectors, so it can be reduced or blown up without having to worry about pesky pixel based resolutions.
And no tracing because it just creates a massive mess, with a gazillion shapes, shades and anchor points that you didn't create yourself, hence you do not control your own logo. Plus, it will make the file way too heavy and slow down your computer drastically.
Also, avoid changing the color of the font when it goes over a darker background. It screws with the legibility and just complicates things needlessly.
I guess this must be one of your first logo? Keep it up, this how you learn!
Yeah Photos dont show well on all mediums. Think of what your logo will look like if you blow it up 8 ft and what it would look like if you shrunk it to 1 inch.

Good luck!
Shanali said it all. If you are intro design, you will have to experiment more with your own logo
