Generally speaking, I like this. I am not certain you need the distortion in the bottom of GRILL. Also, you might want to check your kerning. The Y really looks like it stands alone. Have you considered what colors you would use on a white background?
I think you have a solid idea, I think there are some unnecessary elements including the grunge on the bottom of "Grill." I like the type however it needs to be much cleaner. It looks a lot like the "Geared" typeface but only not clean but it doesn't look purposefully not clean which is why I think it is unsuccessful. As far as the composition I think it's good but I would either spread the "bar & grill" all the way to the orange bar or move the orange bar to the beginning of the word. It doesn't look natural right now. Overall its a great start. Keep going and this will be amazing!
Seems pretty basic and doesn't say a lot. What makes this bar and grill different from the rest? What should it be famous for? I like the typeface but would lose the grunge effect in grill. Solid colors are the best way to go. If you don't use solid colors, it makes the production process for signage a lot more difficult and more expensive.
I work for a Sign company too and i can tell you that the Grunge effect would make it more expensive and difficult to produce compared to if there wasnt any grunge because its another element that would have to be cut, or it would be printed which is more expensive that using solid vinyl colours. Also if this was to be made into 3D lettering the grunge detail may not be able to be cut from any sub straights as the detail may be to small.
That being said, i think the gunge effect is good on the word Grill, and if the company has the budget for it then its all good!
i wouldn't like to weed out those small pieces out haha also if this goes on a vehicle it wouldn't be too bad!
Now about pricing it depends, if you do a vehicle it won't add much to the price...at least in my shop :D (i would use a printable cast vinyl + 1mil laminate to add protection)
I like this but im not keen on the big Solid orange slab, might look fine without it.
Fix the kerning as Shawali said as theres a few letters that are a bit off and i think you've got a winner
I like typography, unlike the majority, I do like the "grunge" effect on the word "Grill", because it gives a special touch of personality. As to
Yes I agree that orange rectangle below should disappear and urgently correct kerning. On increased the price of production of a signaling or warnings, it is relative, because that different versions of the logo for each of the applications which are designed needed.

i agree with above, and i guess the orange rectangle doesn't match the rest?
Now ...as i am working for a sign shop, i can say the grunge effect doesn't make it more expensive at all or difficult for signage production.

I'm personally liking this. It's nothing ground breaking, but it has character. I particularly like the distressing treatment.
The kerning should be fixed, though.

Good Job

I think a good start and're on track.
