Brief from client
A department within municipal government in Burnaby, Canada. Focus on volunteering to seniors and people with special needs. They use the slogan "The small department with the big heart"
Take a look at the example. See how this guys do it? They put the "g" inside the heart and take as much as they can from it balancing the shape of the heart and the shape of the "g"
I don't get what's going on in the heart.. is it a "V" for volunteer? Not making sense to me..
If it is a V.. it could be worked into a heart shape and look much better. Like the G in the example above. But, you might want some clarification of why it's there.
Yes,the V stands for Volunteer, and is used in their current logo. They wish to keep the V in the update. Should have made that known before posting...
You need a better definition for that 'V' in your graphic mark because, when executed like this, it's not clear that it's actually a 'V'.
Gradients do not add anything exciting to this, use solid colors.

change all the typo..incluse "V". lose shade..and gradient color.
