Version two is an improvement. What about a slight colour change in the r and x to highlight the reference to 'Rx' prescription?

Quick (stupid) question: why Rx? There's no X in the brand name.

Right now, the X is really getting in the way of a good legibility.

They really want the "Rx" because that is the logo for prescriptions, and it was used almost exclusively in a lot of vintage or old school pharmacy logos.

what if you did away with the mortar/pestle instead, and used that space to do a RX symbol? Right now the X seems really out of place and is trying to be part of the name- but isn't. Just a thought!

I agree with Joy. Right now, the brand names reads as "Cammer's Pharmacy X"

If you have to keep it, don't mix it with the actual name of the pharmacy. It will only bring confusion. Putting a well integrated Rx in the symbol is a good idea. I would just make it discreet enough so it doesn't get in the way of the word mark.
