I think your idea so interesting, about the symbol your brand is great.
But, about the typography, the long horizontal character is breaking the line with the symbol, try to do other application for improve and avoid this point and your work must be fine.

I think it's a decent re-design.. much better than the existing logo.

But, I don't think it's there yet.

Something with the house is throwing it off.

Maybe try making the house out of the red instead of a silhouette??

You may as well lay it out on one line, since that's how it will be used.

Their font is better IMO.

Original graphic mark is hilarious, like they took some houses from SIM CITY.

Your version is too good for them, sell it and forget about this as fast as you can because while it's really 'too good for them' it's nothing to be especially proud of.

I like the idea of the house in negative space inside a condo, but the condo itself needs some good rethinking.

You are keeping the typeface and the colors, good, at least you are getting rid of that ugly "&"
