I see what you were going for but i don't think it works all that great at the moment.
i would lose the super bright colors, chess i would associate with darker richer more elegant colors. also i keep wanting to read we cheese the way the horse is put it.
I would give it another shot see if you can place a chess piece in better.

i think it was the same prob with the colour... if you did it in CMYK try changing it to RGB and re-uploading it and see how the colours come out

yes, too bright colors, and the horse reads more like an E.

To be honest, I first read "we cheat".

Using a symbol as a letter is rarely a good idea. I don't think this working here.

I would get rid of the gradients, they don't really bring anything.
