Brief from client 

A friend of mine designed a logo he wants to know what you guys think. The company is an IT firm. Actually the owner is the one who designed this.

Core Concepts is a web based platform that extends basic web functionalities and applications to users. (So guys that's the logo he designed - its located in Uganda.)

It's clean and simple and I like it, but:
Facebook feeling... Color and typo...
I think the ideas with light bulb are overused...

I agree with kisspolo. Very facebook... why dont you try to do something absolutly diferent?

I agree, I immediately associated to Facebook. And the lightbulb idea is way overused.

Likewise the logo instantly reminds you of facebook, the light bulb idea has been used over and over again. The font also is not working for me thinking of an IT firm?

i agree with all, definitely the facebook feel to it and i'd say scratch this and start fresh
