I'd keep the symbol where you have it, if it was above the text I think it would look ... just not right. I'd maybe pick a different font though- the one you have is fine I guess, but it's really plain. The logo is really simple so if you want you could have a LITTLE more fun with the font, you know what I mean!? But I'd say this is just about right for a Medical Firm.

This makes me think of an environmental company having to do with water, or even a modern oil company due to the "drop" symbols I see when it's zoomed in, when it's small though it's definitely a pill, so good job with that. As for changes... perhaps try a more circular sans serif?
