I loved that effect. Great design about health and animals.

Well I have never been a fan of gradients (so I'll keep my thoughts on that to myself lol). But the double G is a bit distracting as they are the only letters touching. I don't feel it adds anything to your logo. I think the black is a bit stark for Veterinarian, maybe take it back to 80-90% black or choose a more complimentary color. There is also some kerning issues throughout that word.

I adore dogs. Had my own dog, who passed away last year and I missed him dearly - it was a male Shetland sheep dog name " Mishka ". Will talk about your symbol here. I don't mind your gradient approach here and it will work with a few modifications. I love how you did a pointy part of a dog's ear with that nice greenish effect and why not duplicate that in other areas on a dog's body? What bothers me is that sharp knife cutting neck line that twisting and turning - get rid of that and make that shade of blue all the way from dog's ear to the bottom, it will solidify the entire silhouette. Then that finger nail line on a chest? Get rid of that and , instead, make a nice indication of an elbow ( same green effect on a tip of a ear ) on that front leg. I do not like that light teal area on a bottom part with a tail, as it almost look like a dog is wearing a diaper or an artificial limb. Make dog's paws softer and round the tips, so, they don't resemble a blade of a knife - same goes on a tail with that line in a middle that making a tail look very much as a Turkish sword from Ottoman's era. Your shade of blue in " DOGGY " is different versus a symbol. I would make a " Y ' more rounded at a top to look uniform with the rest of the letters. Agree on above comment from j.o.y

Gradients are rarely good to use in logo design. Or, at least you should ALWAYS plan for a flat color version, since gradients won't always be an option for you.

Your color scheme is all over the place, too. As others pointed out, there are different shades of blues and greens all over. Pick a color palette and stick to it; it will help so much in the long run.

The dog shape is okay at best. The tail doesn't flow into the body that well, and the feet are very stylized. I'd like to see a flat version before commenting further here.

And please; don't use that double G combination. There's no reason to be drawing attention toward them, unless there's deeper meaning behind it, like if the owner's initials are GG or something.

Also, make sure your letters are spaced evenly. Don't rely on the program's text tool to do this; it will almost never happen. You have cases like this where the O is closer to the G than the D.

Finally, I would move "Veterinarian" closer to the other words, and possibly apply a similar color scheme than black. Dark blue would look better.

Keep at it, and good luck.

Hi and welcome!

This isn't working for me, unfortunately.

That dog symbol seems very roughly and quickly put together. And it's not really ground breaking and original for a dog vet. It's a bit obvious lacks of inspiration. Checkout this link to see what you can do with a dog logo: http://tinyurl.com/jm97cex

These gradients are terrible. Some parts like the ear would most likely disappear in a black and white version of this logo. Also, now that a lot of logos are made for the screen, gradients aren't as not recommended as they were in the past. That being said, this will be a total mess print wise. These slightly different shades of blue would make any printer goes crazy! My advice for you is to keep things simple and work with solid colors.

Most the curves are badly drawn. Try to use geometrical shapes to build your symbol, like this exemple.

Like most of the not so good logo we get here, it's due to a lack of a proper creative process. I'm almost certain you designed this directly on the computer, am I right? =) Read my comment in this previous post describing what a basic and effective creative process should look like: http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/critique/out

The word mark is also pretty bad. These two Gs stuck together doesn't say anything and just complicate the whole thing, on top of screwing with the kerning which is already all over the place!

Keep it up and don't hesitate to post updated versions of your logo!
