Brief from client 

This logo is for an up and coming hip hop artist. It needed to be recognizable but not too flashy. It also needed to reflect his music; emotional, somber, witty, thought-provoking.

I don't like the typeface of the white parts, but overall it's great work. I would use a simpler font there.
