Brief from client
My client is a pianist called Emerald, he wants a logo that marge the idea of Emerald with the idea of the piano.
I create a logo that reminds Piano, emerald and letter E.

I really like the symbol. I knew immediately that this was music related. The sound wave/heart beat with a flatline needs to go, though. It is very distracting.
Symbol: looks very nice and beautifully crafted. That being said, this particular shape symbolizes a diamond more than an emerald.
Subtext: I agree with Coop. The duplicated soundwaves are redundant and complicate things needlessly.
Globally, this is a job well done.
I agree with the rest, great work! The only thing I would add is that the symbol works better with the thick stroke around it in the top version. I would like to see that carried through to the bottom version with the white keys being negative space.
Very similar logo is found on the web, thought ...
So what? There are millions of logos out there and it's bound to happen that some of them share the same idea. And to be honest the OP posted is way better than this one.
Plus, you don't know which was done first. And it doesn't really matter anyway.
This kind of post irritates me greatly. You bring nothing to the discussion, you just want start shit up or make the OP feel bad.
