Brief from client
Personal logo

Making a personal logo for my designs. I used my initials which I know has been overdone in the past but as I was messing around with sketches I though this looked sharp and professional. I am not tied to any colors so I left it white on black. I also plan on just using the symbol without text if it is strong enough on its own.
Please let me know what you think! I look forward to any suggestions! Thanks!

There's some potential, but the cutout between the E and the H is waaaayyy to thin and will definitely disappear when printed small at a business card size. Bigger cutout, and maybe try another option with the same cutout at the bottom right of the E also.
Lastly, I'm not a fan of the type face for your name at the bottom. It's too tight and even looks like it might be getting compressed rather then being a true condensed font. Keep it a sans serif, but look into Heroic Condensed, Proxima Nova and ITC Avant Garde Gothic (which are some of my favorite sans serif families with tons of options.) Heroic in particular is very good if you need a very condensed font that doesn't look like a compressed version of the a regular sans serif font.
I find this logo a bit underwhelming. It's not horrible, it's just bland. To me, it clearly lacks imagination, personality and all those things that would come up after a few hours of intense, sketching.
The really thin line bothers me. It doesn't relate with anything else in the letter structures. Adding in little characteristics like that is best used when there's repetition in the design, but appears random when it you have only one instance of its kind.
Good luck, and try some more possibilities out.
If you look inside the E, you have an horizontal H to be completed, maybe using the D in "design"... Some sketching and brainstorming could bring out something interesting.
