Brief from client 

Fashion website

Fictional Company- Student work
I was having trouble with incorporating a symbol, so I turned to typography. I would appreciate some honest, helpful feedback. Should I go back to the drawing board for a symbol?

Try another version. Letters are too thin to be recognizable and have long distance it's others.

Read more about kerning. It is impossible to put letters in such distances, giving them no space to live in either putting them on lonely islands.

Back to your dilemma with the symbol, the shape of your "f" reminds me of a fern growing upward and curling over towards the top. I'm not sure if that helps but keep envisioning both the namesake and what the "company" does.
