Brief from client
it's logo for a java coding festival. it should give a feel of festival, should be colorful and happy.
I'm not happy with the logo coz it has too many colors. We've used the mascot to make it fun.

Is it Javfest or Javafest.
If it is Javafest, that mascot foes not look like an A really. Changing letters for art is hardly ever effective. Separate the elements and it will be stronger.
The pinwheel feels like clip art, it either needs to be removed, as it really adds nothing, or given some variance to make it more lifelike.
That font is trying to be fun, but it is trying in the wrong ways. Those little curls are ruining this. Try something fun, that isn't as silly.
The blues are too close together, making it look somewhat like that 't' is a mistake. The outlines are distracting on the other letters. They are hairline, take them off.

I do like the little guy. I even like how it is leaning on a letter. But it might be better at the very front.
It looks like the curls were done with those twirl warp tools in Illustrator that I have yet to find a viable use for.
In the revise below, I also agree that D has the most potential but these all feel like you're creating them on your computer without sketching out concepts. Put down the mouse for a bit and back away for a bit.
Nothing appeals to me in this logo.

The logo is way too childish. Globally, I'd expect to this on a birthday party invitation for a 6 years old =)

Work on "d" version, but start from sketch again
I agree, d. is most salvageable of the bunch. But it needs a lot of work and expertise.
