Brief from client
photography studio
It's for a friend who just started his career of professional cameraman.
I'm not sure many people would get that the symbol is representing a focus meter in the viewfinder unless you're a photographer. That's fine for people to not necessarily fully understand what a symbol is, but a logo symbol should always be unique and eye-catching. So, in my opinion a box with four little boxes around it is not unique enough, even though I get the metering reference here. I do like that you're going in a different direction from the typical aperture symbols and camera lenses. I'd say do some more sketches and try to figure out a way to make a metering symbol a little more unique and interesting.
I totally understood the symbol right off bat, being that I am a photography enthusiast myself. I think it is a fresh idea to the photography logo game. Rather then a aperture or a lens. I just don't think the serif font goes well with the symbol that seems to be more representative of a San serif type style.. I don't know that could just be me. I think it won't hurt to go ahead and give it a try in a different type. Also give it some breathing room, the symbol almost looks like a after thought and was just wedged in-between Firm and Eyes. Would love to see what else you could come up with.

You can try to rotate the square to make them diamond. Also kern the photography to make it flush left and right side.
