Brief from client
the client is asking for a simple not complicated design for a fish market
the design is very simple showing the head of a fish plus light blue background on the water

This doesn't look like a fish head. It looks like the head of a old man who is balding and seems to be not so happy. The typography is not fitting of the symbol thus far. Bring more of the fish in the image or put some more details befitting of a fish to make it clearer.
As Racealistic said, I would suggest sketching fish like crazy and learn ways to simplify while still keeping essential shapes that help the viewer to identify it as a fish.
People don't want to eat sad animals, it makes them feel bad.

Yeah it feels sad to me too, also reminds me of the goodwill logo :)
