Genees logo

Brief from client

Genees is a new startup dedicated to bringing cute little robots to every home. These robots connect to your phone to play augmented reality games. They grow and learn as you play with them.
Genees is a playful, technological company.

This is my latest version of the logo.

I chose a blue+green combination with I think works well with the brand.

The "black" e's in Genees are supposed to convey smiling eyes. It can also work as a standalone logotype with the half eyes "popping" out of the bottom part of the e (then the black lines are eyebrows).

What would you do to make the logo more appealing to young kids?

I guess the idea is to show the robot, which works as it's cute and inviting.

But the typography is very 90's and the small details in the symbol and letters won't work at smaller sizes. You need to make those details bolder.

Thanks for your reply! Which font would you recommend that I use?
I have these other options (but only #2 and #4 are OK)

I think the detail in the letters is distracting. I would find a way to incorporate the robot in place of the E's without making them look like Os. Instead of the dots in the eyes, you could notch them with a pie-shaped wedge and make sure the whites are minimized. Just a thought. If you choose to keep the robot on top, I would lose the smiling eyes...too distracting from your robot.

Thanks for your feedback!
I worked on a minimalist version of the logo as well (see attached), but I think most toy brand logos are "charged" with features. Maybe I'll just enlarge the small features (mouth and lines).

I agree with cooperads, keeping both the robot and the eyes, is a bit too much. The last version, where you've put the black eyes inside the "e" is just too weird.

My suggestion, keep the robot head and a clean font, no other symbols.

The little lines inside the type: either loose them, or make them bolder and white, like they cut the text.

As for the colors, I don't see why only the "es" should be blue. If you like the colors, maybe make the "ee" blue. But personally, green and black is more then ok.

Looking forward to your new version, good luck!
