Yes it is contemporary, but a little too trendy. The whole 70's-80's thing is really popular right now so this logo fits that, which would be fine if you were the latest store in the mall. A design firm logo should be above trends otherwise a couple of years (or less, trends change fast) down the road you will look out of touch. I do like the clean font, but the colors... just because you can use a gradient doesn't mean you should. Good start but not quite there, and as far as adaptable goes look at the thumbnails on the right, can you read the small type?
