Brief from client
Hi all,
This is a logo i've been working on for a friend who has a hosting company and no logo, just a vague idea of color scheme and text for a logo.
He came back to me saying that he loved the logo, but had reservations on if it would work as a favicon etc, although I think that it would be recognizable when scaled down.
I have slight reservations about the gradient - but visually, felt that it was what was needed. It alludes slightly to the progress / loading circle on videos / OSs etc.

I'm glad the client likes it so far... but I gotta say, I don't really dig it. It's just kind of... uninteresting. Maybe do something else for the circle - or make something more out of it? I'm not putting that into words very well, but it just seems like it needs something.... more. It's just different colored text with two extended lines, you know? I'm assuming you mean an online hosting site- so maybe play that up more? Sorry if this wasn't all that helpful!
Yeah thanks. This was a complete steer away from the client's wild aspirations. I was been pushed towards a mouse sitting in front of a fire..... Yeah ;) So I stripped that idea away and brought together a basic solution.
I do get what you're saying about it being uninteresting. I tried many a graphic device but all seemed cliched - octagons and other shapes in various arrangements. The issue that I found was that they were veering more and more away from the idea of what the company is called, and found myself in a situation where i'd got too many ideas in one place and the logo became like 4 dogs pulling on a rag in 4 different directions - if that makes sense ;/ I'll keep at it... Thanks!
What was the font used? I like the type, but honestly I dont know about the logo... Has sara says... it need something.
The font is Geogrotesque...

In this case you will need the same font on your words so you will have it symmetric. the idea of circle is ok but avoid gradient....doted line perhaps...something to remember of data, bits ,connections and stuff....
I think that works.
It does that rare thing: genuinely represents the business's adjective. The Squeezed left of the H looks, for want of a better word, cosy.
Bulked up a bit, I see no reason it shouldn't work at 16×16.
