Sorry, this is really not good.

One thing that would make this logo already 50% better is to get rid of that useless purple circle and those terrible, horrible color stains that says nothing good about your taste as a designer. Those duplicated curves serve no purpose either and have to go.

You'll then be left with a word mark with a sound combination of a script font and nice modern sans serif.

I'm not a fan of the script type. The big capital K disrupts the balance and proportions of the font. This is something you should avoid doing as a font is whole system of interdependent elements and altering one of the them without proper preparation just fucks up the rest. Also, with this kind of font, you have to be careful of the kerning and subsequently the ligatures. The one between the h and the s isn't properly working. I would look for similar but better script font. Have a glance at sites like www.losttype.com and www.fontsquirrel.com. There are a whole lot of other sites proposing cool free professional fonts.

Overall, this is a poor effort I'm sorry to say. It feels like you didn't spend too much time working on this. Then, since this is a school assignment, maybe you didn't have much time to do it. But don't worry, I've also been a student years ago and I too did some crappy jobs ;) It's a necessary step. Here's a few pointers for a good creative process:

1- Research. Before anything else, do a bit of research on actual designer and agency logos. Get the lay of the land. See what works, what doesn't. Identify trends, in terme of typography, colors, shapes, composition, etc. Does something that worked great a couple years ago still does today? Does something that works today will still do in X amount of years?

2- Inspiration. The fuel of your creative engine. Peruse on sites like www.logopond.com www.fromupnorth.com www.dribbble.com and get yourself a Pinterest account if you haven't already. The sight of hundred really well crafted logos should get your creative juice flowing.

3- Sketching. I cannot stress enough how important this part is. When I was a student, I thought it was a waste of time and that you could design a logo directly on the computer. How foolish I was. Sketching is everything! This is how you organically connect your brain with the tip of your pencil and come up with really cool idea, providing that you really take the time. Sketch hours upon hours if you need to. Ideas will almost magically pop up in your mind. Some will be good, some not, but explore them all and you will eventually stumble on something cool.

So there you go. I hope this will help you as well as your schoolmates. Don't hesitate to come back with more logos, we'll always be happy to help!
