Typography used is classic and fine but you have a problem with letter pairs kerning and spacing. You need to fix this.

I think it's a cute logo. The typo is confusing. Can you simplify it? Also, add some color, light blue or something.

I'm not sure about the cartoon but since you client is a blogger some level of freedom is acceptable. I like the colors but you should try red and black to have a different perspective.
