Brief from client
Logo for a boutique in Stockholm. Give us something that feels lika France & USA... And nice for our window & signs.
For the most part I really like this. I think as far as colors go, my favorite would definitely be the upper left hand corner- with the red banner and the dark brown main text.
That said, some things I might consider:
It seems like the banner is a little too low- like there's too much space between that bottom banner and "Shopen".
I'm also a little concerned that there's too much happening - I see that you kept it to only two fonts (I think I only see two!?) which is great, and I actually really like the combination of the script with the narrow sans serif, but all five rows of text are a little overwhelming. I'm guessing you need all of them there, (I'm not sure what they all say!) but on the off chance that you could remove one of them I think that would strengthen your logo quite a bit.
But nevertheless, I DO like what you've done so far, I just think a few tweaks could make it better. Mainly moving that banner up a few clicks. Last thing, the two top lines seem a little close together- could the get a little more spaced out without making the logo too tall?
This is eye candy to me. It's good to see that "creative minds" coming up with real good logos *wink wink*
Unlike Sara (sorry! =), I don't think there is too much happening here. For me it's part of the style. You just got only 2 different fonts, which proves you know what you're doing. You didn't turn the whole thing into a indigestible font fest.
I agree with her on the banner being a tiny bit too low. But this is just a minor detail.
Maybe, but just maybe, you try it without dubbing the main font, just to see if can be slightly simplified.
Other wise, this seriously rocks.
But be careful, you're supposed to upload only one logo at a time. Make several posts, or Ivan will discard three of those. Or even better, just keep only one. They're not much different from each other. If I had to choose, I'd pick the first one.
remember the beautiful marketing the 80 back, very faithful to logo clothing brands the tendency for this type is coming back, if that was the idea that spending quiz, is well directed,
I like it a lot. Not anything that a little "re-spacing" wouldn't fix. I'd love to see a little "overlap" here and there – maybe rethink the design of a few elements so that they could interact with others a bit. The script word could be larger – maybe have the descender of the Y dip down into the negative space between the "L" and the "C." Massage it a bit and it will come to life. A really great start!
