Brief from client
Lily Drive is a mobile local shopping app that allows consumers to support their favorite non-profits while getting discounts from local merchants.
I like it but I do have a question. Why does the first loop not complete around? Was there a specific purpose? The concept you describe seems like consumers, non-profits, and merchants all have a symbiotic relationship. Connecting the loop into an infinity would give the constant flow in the relationship. Maybe I'm reading into it too much but either way I like this logo.
Lovely logo, though maybe you coud find a font with more character.
One thing though: I always advice against participating in these so called "contests". It's just a scam. Clients pay well less than they would have paid an agency of a designer, have hundreds if not thousands of people working for them for the very small chance to win a few hundred bucks. Everybody wins, save the poor bastards who spent hours working a logo that didn't get pick up.
Thanks Shawali.Lolz.you are right.these contests are fake.I realized it many times.I am a self taught graphic designer with one year exp and am new to US and jobless.sometimes I do it for money though the prize amount is not so good.I never tried in Elance or freelancer.com.I was going through your works and you are very very professional.I think you are quite experienced in this field.Just from curiosity I wanted to ask whether you are a freelancer or working for any creative company?
Thanks for the appreciation! I'm a freelancer in Paris, France.
I am amazed by the fact that you are self taught and have one year of experience and are able to come up with such good logos. I can only imagine how good you're going to be with a few years more under your belt.
To get some gigs, I would avoid anything that asks to provide some work before getting hired. Never work for free, unless it's for friends or people you really trust. And then again, make sure that some compensation is due at some point.
A simple thing you can do is to make yourself some business cards and leave them in shops and companies around you. It's the old fashion way, but it still can work.
Thanks a lot Shawali.Your words motivated me.I did many stuffs for free but from now on I will be extra cautious. Thanks for the advises.I will surely try putting my business card in shops.I am located in illinois, chicago.

Thanks Stephen. I submitted this one in a contest held in 99design.Although the contest holder's bad choice will not choose this one for sure..LOLZ.

Thanks Jon.You are absolutely right. I wanted to give it an abstract LD look as the contest holder would like to see the touch of the initials.
Gotcha.
Very clean and well executed!
