May go back to the drawing board here. this seems like it might have too much going on, but wanted to get feedback anyways. thanks.
There is a clear disconnect between the symbol and the word mark. As if they were part two different logo. they really don't match at all.
I think you need to spend more time working on that lion head because it's not there yet.
Ho, and black on a dark blue background isn't great for visibility. keep in mind that the background color isn't part of the logo. More often than not, it will be placed on a white background, so stick to that and you'll be fine.
Look at the lion from the Broadway version of the Lion King attached below.
He could make his lion ACTUALLY look like it was carved out of stone, then imprinted as a logo. Go for a more statuesque look, rather than this lined illustration.

I'm not sure how you can make your lionhead look much different from the other lionhead.
It is an unfortuante name.
He could make it look completely different.
