Logo for game studio

Brief from client

the studio owner goes by the same moniker of blue Eyed Samurai. It just needs to reflect the games industry and look cool

this is a rough, I just got so burned out working on the lettering that the whole thing started looking off to me. Please help with fresh eyes!

Wow! I'm loving this! If this is just a rough, I can't wait to see the final version ;)

The lettering needs some work indeed. It's a bit left heavy, I would work specifically on the i to counter-balance the s. I would probably not capitalise the first e in eyes.

But this already looking pretty good. Great job.

thank you for all the guidance over the years, the feedback will be very helpful while I go into it today. Unfortunately this logo will only work with the dark bg so I need to figure something about that as well. On a light bg it looks X-rayed

No problem, you've always posted really logos!

I don't think this logo can only work on a dark background, you can always find a way to make it work on white. I'll even say that you have to, just so you have as much flexibility as possible depending on when it will be shown.

Maybe you got this figured out by now, but to me, it's all about the font/type.
The Type is the art - the image reflects the type, not the other way around.
So you get that font right and it flexes the image behind it. And becomes the logomark. Then a simple flourish like the helmet/head can be seen with the logotype and it has the same effect.

Something like this-though font choice and type treatment is all up to the end user choice and desired final look.
