Brief from client
.
Hello, for school i have to design my own logo, and i would like some feedback.
You will get my list of things to do. For first logos especially.
1. Research. - Look at logos. A bunch of Logos. Then some more logos. (Charlie has a great list of sites)
2. Brainstorm - Take your name, as well as some of your favourite things. Branch off from them, even if it doesn't make sense. Spend a good 30 minutes.
3. Pair the words, or pick words you really like. It doesn't need to make the best sense, or be from the same tree. If you have Dinosaur + cowboy - hey go for it.
4. Sketch some ideas. I would say about 6 of the pairs.
5. Pick the three that are working the best. Spend time on them. Sketch and refine.
6. Refine more.
7. Refine more more.
8. Turn on your computer.
9. Take the best of each of those 3 ideas and scan them in.
10. Bring us those 3 ideas.
11. We will help you from there. :)
But no computer work until see see some sketches! ^-^
Charlie, how about this one...? I was thinking about that for some time and wonder if you agree to make a chapter on this blog to be call " Tutorial " to help newcomers and dummy like myself to learn basic steps in adobe illustrator. Let's say each week you will demonstrate some simple exercise either with a letter or a symbol or a background and etc. What do you think, Charlie?
The colors are a good mix and eye catching. The font is bleh and I definitely don't see how anything design related shows other than a little color theory.
This is too little for a logo.
I know very well how difficult it is to create a brand for one, because I still can not get mine.
A rectangle with text inside are not sufuciente. Try something with more strength, this is just the beginning.
Follow buscanado that eventually you will get much better.
Follow the advice of Charlie (Shawali) you'll see the amount of creative logos that can help you get a better idea.
Good luck friend! :)

I dig on your general idea. Could " JORDISIGN " work, too? Like a color scheme. Not sure about a color bar behind letters?
