Brief from client

Don't know what to type here

Hello People from Brands of the world.
Recently I have uploaded a logo on Brandsoftheworld.com

I didn't have much inspiration for it and I was told to start sketching out some logos and searching for some inspiration on internet.

As result on my feedback i eventually came on the idea on those 2 logos.

Is there anything that I can do to make these logos better?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

"Is there anything that I can do to make these logos better?"

Yes. Makes more logos. Hundreds of them. Logo design is a skill that is learned through experience, mistakes, blunder, etc. There will be many traps along the way, like being super satisfied with a logo, realizing only a few days, months or years later that it was crap.

Your mind will play tricks on you. Sometimes you will feel like you dishearted as if you can't make any progress anymore. Terrible feeling, but you got to pass through it by keeping honing your skills.

What you want to avoid is the feeling that you know enough, or worse, that you know everything. Graphic design is a never-ending learning process.

I've been doing this professionally for a bit over 10 years and I still learn every day. And go through the same hardships. I started dabbling into hand lettering last year. And it ain't easy. I felt discourage more than once. Until I came up with something better than what I did before. And then something else better, and so on. Now, I'm still not an accomplished hand letterer, but I feel a bit more confident, enough to keep me going.

Take a good look at this logo here. In a few years, with more experience under your belt, you will look at it and say to yourself "how the fuck could I do that?!" =) It's just a matter of time and of what you do with that time.

Keep on keeping on!

Firstly, read Shawali's comment over and over and over till it will blend inside of you for life. Read it well - so, every day that you will live - it will guide you to a destination that you're heading. Don't ever forget it. Now, you have got something in here at a very raw stage, which is good. Take a seat, look and think, think and look and see if you can come up with something by studying a negative space between letters, shapes and etc. Turn your ideas inside out, flip them upside down, twist, bend them - what ever it takes, go crazy, swim against current... See how far can you push yourself to a next level of your creation before you must grab paper and pencil. I already see dozen of things that I can do in here - but I will leave that up to you. Don't give up so easily- put some fight! Good luck.Charlie, is a good man and I'm fortunate to have him around...

Alright, enough.

Charlie knows what he's talking about, that's for sure, but seriously, I've pretty much had all I can take with how much you're passive aggressively shunning everyone else. You won't respond to others unless you boil over, or if they're asking you for help. It's really hard to put differences aside when all you do is put one person on blast, and everyone else on mute.

He's a respected designer, and I'm not taking anything away from him. But don't take anything one person says as word and gospel. Otherwise you're essentially molding an opinion into fact. Although I agree with what he says more often than not, there is always room for debate.

It's okay to agree with someone, but really...it sounds like you're unable to think for yourself. Listen to reason, but be able to challenge it.

Now that I've gotten my rant out of the way, I'll offer some advice on my own. It's only fair :)

Your logo doesn't really offer anything, to be honest. It kind of feels like you settled on the first few ideas that came to your mind. Really, do take some time to explore different options here.

Personally, I'll always be harsher on logos for graphic designers because they reflect the abilities and skills of what that person has to offer. It sort of sets the bar, so to speak. Make sure it's set as high as you can make it.

I guess the biggest problem I see here is that I wouldn't know what the letters represent; or more importantly, what the logo represents.

I truly look forward to your next idea. I've got a feeling we can expect something 10x better :) Good luck, and happy sketching.
