Logo Needs Critquing

Brief from client
This is a logo revision. The hourglass has been previously used, but we want a more updated new look. We want it to be classy...
I would like some feedback on what I can do to improve the logo....
I'm guessing tempo = time = hourglass was your line of logic. But the juxtaposition is terrible. You even switched from serif to sans-serif with "inc", a typographical sin.
Choose a font that isn't Times New Roman. Seriously. And sketch several upon several ideas for a symbol. This one displays no unique or interesting qualities.
It's a no across the board for me, but keep trying new things.

This absolutely looks terrible. I can't express how bad this looks as a logo. For starters, your usage of gradients = a no.
Your way of implementing your type with your logo looks awful. Parts of the T's upper side look like they've been tampered with and/or filled with.
Just take this back to the drawing board..
I dont understand what I'm looking at(which means it didnt work)
What is this supposed to be about? Need some more back story in the brief so we can provide better critique.

It reminded me of this instantly.
