Logo Thread

Brief from client

Hello everyone! We are a company that does embroidery and/or merchandise branding for big and small businesses. We are in the works of redesigning our logo and could use some help.

This is the logo we have created thus far. We are stuck on whether we want to continue to work on the logo or scratch this one and create a different one. We like how "Logo Merchandise" is in the circle, as that is one of the services we offer, but is it too distracting from our actual name "Logo Thread"? Good or bad, we are open to whatever feedback we receive. Thank you!

This is not really working.

There's no real idea and the color are very dull, especially with this bland grey.

The colors don't bother me, as I'm assuming that you are thinking of working on the Black & White version of your idea first. So my thoughts are based upon the other elements besides color.
Some things I would suggest are the following:

If the brand is "Logo Thread" I would recommend that as the design basis.

The concept of thread seems to equal in my mind embroidery/stitching. I would play with incorporating that into the design typography or symbol somehow.

The "Logo Merchandise" in a circle idea is really opposite of what you want the client to come away with. They will know what you do but not what the company name is. It's probably safer to push them into brand identification of Logo Thread and then make them aware of logo merchandise in supplemental information.

The reason everyone reads "Logo Merchandise" is because you circled what you want them to read. Visually you said, "hey, only look at this portion of the image, the other words don't matter"
Have you tried putting "Logo Thread" in the circle? Maybe put "merchandise branding agency" on the right side of the circle logo?
