Brief from client
a simple logo to communicate the idea of including your goals in your digital life/ digital loop
just an alternate I came up with, working on some other feedback too
I like this version the best. In version 3 there is a disconnect between the symbol and the type, the symbol is so much tighter and more precise than the text. I like the looseness you have here, personally I might tweak the curves on the lead-in to the L and the tail of the last curve, but there is also a certain charm in being a little imperfect. The dots on the I are a nice touch, good representation of the two worlds.
Sorry to be the party-pooper, but this is really not working for me. I always encourage people to use hand lettering in their logos, but this isn't looking good.
If you really want to do it, you will need a proper graphic tablet that can simulate the pressure of the stylus. Here, it looks like it's been done with the mouse. The even thickness of the stroke makes it look very stiff, especially with this cursive style.
Hand lettering is great, but it demands a lot of work to get a good looking result. I should know, I've been practising for the last year and though I made some progress, I'm still struggling to come up with something great.
Your first version wasn't too bad. It was simple and it worked. You only needed a script font, such as DK Pimpernel and you'd be all set.
As much as I understand what you are saying, I deliberately stuck to a one weight font to get a loopy thread feeling. Does it fall short? Yes and I'm working on it. I did use a graphic tablet and thanks for the feedback :)
I think due to the one weight that it falls short of what it could be. Looks a little static perhaps.
Even if there was just a little variance, I think it would make this logo so much better. :) It doesn't need a lot, just a little.
What if you let go a wire design and make the same arch motion text out of the dots above " i " ? I'm just curios how that will look? It could be a winner with a right touch and something different, too.

Thanks fred, I'm looking to get some more feedback on this. Anyone else have something constructive to say? I'd appreciate it :)

Good luck!
