Loumi's
Brief from client
The idea behind this logo is to have a mix of vintage/modern/classy/fresh/American/French =)
The restaurant is basically a salad bar and they extended their offer with home made sandwiches and bagels.

Hi there!
Here is a new logo proposal for that restaurant client of mine. I already posted a logo for it a few months ago but they didn't pick it up. I can't find it on the site, the tracking thing isn't optimal.
I came up with this one, which I really like and that the client seems to like also. It's still in the early stages, there are few things that will change/evolve. I like the kind of handle on the L, which comes with the font. The client isn't a big fan of it.
"Restaurant frais" means "fresh restaurant".
The fonts I've used are Myra 4F and Lily Script One.
If you think there is some Joe White influence in there... Well, damn straight there is =)
Tell me what you guys think.
Peace.

Some variations. I like the idea that a logo can be a bit like a font, with different levels and complexity.
Great work!
lol @ Joe W reference :)
I think you exactitude this lovely especially with the variations you can play with, pretty dynamic and usable for many applications.
I like the handle on the L but at the same time it seems a little to overpowering would be cool to see the handle a little less.
overall I'd be a happy customer.
yes, it is a very fine logo, yes i like it :D
Yess! At first I thought it is Joe White's work, but then I was happy to see its yours. Very nice logo, I like it. What I think is that the handle of L defenitely has its point. It will stick in people's head. In other hand, I would make the symbol a bit bigger and make the line endings the same length as the main text. The little flowers on the bottom can be or cannot be there. Your choice. Great job, looking forward for what you might come up with. :)
awesome job here Shawali! i way prefer these options to your previous ones you did a while back, its nice to see that the customer still has faith in you and that they are coming round to the style you have chosen to represent their company in. i Love all the different variations you have done but particularly like the font for Restaurant Frais in the option you have shown compared with the other variations.. i think ill be downloading that font soon! :)
I can see you've taken Inspiration from the awesome Joe White like i have done recently and i think it really pays off! (i just hope joe isnt getting annoyed that everyone seems to be adopting his style lol)
once again great job and i hope the client picks something similar to this if not this!
Lovely! I think it is the first logo of yours that I see. reminded me of JW as well :)
You did a fine job sir, classy, vintage but I do not think it is modern.
Great work all round, It does have a taste of my inspiration, but its also very much your own style too.
Thats a great font you've used on the second line, I have to ask what font that is? Ah its Lilly!
I really like the built up version but its great to see you using the multiple variations, I'm sure itll be loads of fun to work with on menus and any other branding, looks really cool!
The L on its own is my favourite, can see this being letter-pressed very easily, or at a least a custom rubber stamp.
I think you've done a great job, Should be very happy. But once you get bitten you don't want to stop unfortunately. Keep up the good work!
Hey Shawali. Great logo all around. Absolutely love the typesets you used and all the other elements work really well together. Like JW said, if all the branding follows suite, there place is going to have a great look.
The only thing that's bothers me is the L. I think that handle is too defined. Can we see what it looks like sans handola.
:D
This is great.
I like the handle on the L, it gives a nice counterbalance to the S at the end.
Perhaps it might be a little shorter to appeal to your client?
Thanks for the comments guys. I didn't think I'd get feedback that positive =)
Here's a version without the handle. I prefer the logo with it but the client doesn't. So I'll have to convince him. It's part of the job, no "the client is always right" here =)
Venusasaboy73, I totally agree with you, I like how it counterbalances the S, that's why I let it be when I saw the capital L looked like this with Myra 4F.
The handle also give a bit of character to an otherwise plain L. It works better in the monogram too. Have you tried it with a shorter handle? Perhaps like it was it might be confused for an inverted P, but if you shorten it maybe the client will "meet you halfway" ;)
YUP its missing the handle!
Great point about balance between it and the S
GREAT WORK
Good work, Charlie! Perfect composition!
Perhaps I would have changed proportion fonts, because there may be problems when printing small sizes.
FYI, here's the previous version.
If anything, the new one looks more american than this one which is kind of "scandinavian"... (and BTW they do Bagels, what's more american than that?)
But you do great work anyways so they're lucky to have you and to have the privilege to be "choosy" ;)
I would keep the handle but make it smaller and be careful with the thin lines because they will not look good in print.
Great logo anyway. :)
Excellent!
The stripes on the letters make all the difference in the world!
Also love the look of the est. date above.
Not sure if the handle on the L is too necessary though.
