Maraton gobernador 2012

Brief from client
This is an event that takes place every year in the city of Mexicali Baja California by the state government.
I don't mean to be the party pooper here, but this is far from being over and done. And it certainly don't look professional. Yet.
But it's on the right tracks.
The running man symbol needs some serious fine tuning. You need to rework that right arm, the right leg and the left foot.
Those "speed arrows" coming off the body need to be parallel
Now the main font you use doesn't work, at least for the word "maraton". Those A but the logo totally out of balance. the 47 is alright thought.
And I would also ditch the all caps Helvetica. Generally, 2 bold fonts doesn't really complement each other. Try other combinations. If you need some inspiration and guidelines about typography, check out this awesome site : http://fontsinuse.com/
My problem is with the "Maraton" type and mix of type and italics as well as what words get what colors. I would think the complete name should be in the same type, style, and color. The choice of type for Maraton looks incomplete. The overall symbol is very bold.
Hah! Well it took me a minute (or you know, a few days) but sure enough, I completely agree with Shawali.
The big clump of big/bold type is really, really distracting to me. Un-bold some of it (quite a bit of it, anything non essential) and it also bugs me that only a little chunk of it is orange. I feel like either the bottom two lines should be orange or the bottom two lines should be screened a little to lighten them or SOMEthing else.
I also agree about the movement lines coming off of his back need to be parallel.
I'd also change up the main font- something about it just doesn't jive for my eyeballs. I guess to sum up, I do like what you've started here, but I think it needs a good amount of work before it'll be golden. Keep it up, and upload new versions!!!
