Before I even tackle the symbol,

I have to question the grammar here a bit.

Wouldn't it make more sense to say "Michigan's Tomorrow: Starts Today"?

That way, it would tell your audience "We have already started making michigan better, because our initiative exists".

I think it's pluralized to emphasize that there will be many tomorrows.

And the message about initiative remains as you stated.

This is correct

I rarely see "Tomorrow" pluralized, so it just read oddly to me.

The drawing itself is done well enough, though it reminds me of a Peace Corps t-shirt from 1978.

I think you could make the text a little more interesting with a different font.

Also, I am very familiar with the shape of Michigan but it throws me off to see a map with the land rendered in blue, it make it look like a lake.

It's not bad, but not great either. We need a 'thumbs sideways' option, rating things isn't always quite so binary.

I agree with the text part, making it more interesting. Maybe just the lower part to kind of break it up?

The blue Michigan just felt as if the color was right for the piece as a whole, because i thought green or some other color would look weird. Im sure there is a solution to that though somehow

This symbol totally throws me off- The sky, clouds, water look of the background makes is look like the top part of the state is an object- and an unrecognizable one!
I think if you keep the state shape- you have to find a better background for it. If it didn't say Michigan I would not know what I was looking at in the blue.
And like stated above, land looks like water when rendered in blue!

Im sorry, but if you wouldnt recognize the Michigan in blue, then you definitely dont live in the states lol, where this would only be advertised.

No need to apologize, but I'm as American as they come.....and the reason I couldn't recognize it is the context it's in! The shape isn't the problem, it's the background and the color. (and for me, mostly the background)
