Brief from client
Vintage rock styled logo for a duch rockband who plays the classic american song and own music in the same style.
They wanted something of very vintage taken from the early '70 with some mysterious details.

I taken the lettering style from the vintage american saborn catalogues (a kind of catalogue with instructions by the firemen dept. in the USA).
I worked with the typical object that the band uses on the stage during the concerts: the croco.
In the lake a kind of duck-fish.
The colours and the athmosphere is inspired by the real american rock songs like some by: Eagles, Tom Petty, etc.

I think you achieved your goal.
Wow. Impressive. It makes me think of John Mayer's "Born & raised" album cover. Which is a good think =)
Here's for a little bit of constructive criticism : I'm not a fan of how the subtext looks like. As opposed to the band name, it looks unfinished, a bit too "typed", if you see what I mean.
About the Moon Yard part, is it 100% lettering or did you just tweak it on illustrator? Both would be impressive.
Other than the subtext, there isn't much to criticize. You totally rock this logo and it makes me wanna check this band out.
Congrats.
Hi Shawall, yes, the MoonYard type is made in Illustrator by hand.
P.S. Yes I know that beautiful CD cover.
This is realllly nice! Would love to see some further development on this though. It is fine on its own, but to really embrace the Sanborn spirit there should be a little more to this.
I think its just where alot of the lines connect is a bit of an issue. And the line drawing of the animals isn't quite right, should be a little bit more blocky.
Would also love to see a some delicate details around the outer circle.
But you nailed the Sanborn style, the depth of this is amazing in small scale. Good work!
Hi Joe, I know what you mean about the duck-fish creatures but I preferred to treat them as that was an illustration taken from a book and not like a real part of the logo.
Like something of casual.
Excelent
All the idea is just great! but what i love most about this logo, is the croc! congratulations man!
