My Logo

Brief from client
No client, just me, but i wanted something that has my personality in it.
Ok that's a nice illustration but it doesn't work for a logo. Way too many details, it's over complicated.
Plus it feels like you placed the text wherever you could. And that key is really ugly, all stretched like this. I'd remove it, it doesn't bring anything to the logo. Remember that logo must me simple and to the point.
A simplified version of this tree could potentially be incredible. Whatever you do, you need to able to be comfortable and effective at a 1 color level so I would start there. The font and key were already mentioned. The only other detail I found out of place is the few random dark vectors, most notably in the roots at the bottom right, but I see them in arbitrary locations throughout. It's distracting to me. I hope you revise and repost. I'd like to see where this goes.

Did you make the illustration?
Yes, I drew it by hand first and then scanned it into photoshop to edit it.
4 out of 5! I would vote twice for color if I could!
As the other folks said, I would recommend handwriting your text. You seem to have decent control of a pencil.
Thanks for the opinions!

Good luck!
I agree with some of the people here. Don't like the key, and you seem to be a very good artist so I agree with SeanCasto about handwriting your text.
