I like the colors and the symbol, but I did not see the "N" until I read the brief. Even then its hard to notice. To me all I saw was DEV. The gradient is probably not really necessary.
i would start a new idea. Does not have the feeling of technology or software ..different fonts too
I don't think 2 gradient swooshes are a good choice for a graphic mark nor do they represent 'N' well, especially since it's for a software company.
I am not very happy with your choice of typography either, it just doesn't make a memorable impact. Same thing with your color scheme, it just doesn't provide enough contrast.
I think you need a better idea, and there is plenty out there. get a pen and paper and start sketching.
I develop software and wouldn't take this logo for my business even for free.
Just take a look at NCR, Oracle, Electronic Arts (EA, they develop games), Citrix, and SAS. Their logos are memorable and sober. Get some inspiration from them and do some brainstorming before hitting the pencil and paper.
Sorry- "DEV" next to swooshes with poor type choice..
I will give you credit for turning a "swoosh" into something (a negative N).. even though it wasn't readable. It's better than the billions of logos with swooshes for no apparent reason.
But, as said above.. it's not working. Back to the sketch pad.
