This isn't a logo. It's a good illustration- but, you would need to simplify the hell out of this for it to qualify as a logo. The brief being what it is, I think an outline of a shack might be what they were going for. If not, they should have asked for an illustration.
Agreed with the above.
G said it all, this is not a logo.
Btw, dId you draw that shack by yourself or did you use a stock vector?
I think I saw a stock shack like this some time ago but I am too lazy to search for it so an honest answer would be good.
Illustrator. created the "wood" and "metal" then skewed them to get the right perspective and kind of built the house on a frame. Then added 3d lighting. I am a web developer and vector illustrator (mostly). More and more of my business has started to include logo design as people enjoy our web graphics. I appreciate all of the input as I am new to "Logo" design. Usually I take a logo and go the illustrative route as my job is normally to sensationalize or "take it to the next level" for web purposes. Now clients are asking me to re-design their logos and I have to turn my thought process around entirely from how I am used to looking at a project. Thanks again it really is a big help.
Thanks for this honest answer.
Your illustrator skills are awesome, congrats. However, logo design has a completely different set of rules that you need to adhere to in order to make it work.
I would suggest you check some quality literature on logo design before taking another shot at logo design. You have the skill you just need to learn and understand rules and adjust your thought process accordingly.
